photography, not at its best.

I have always been fascinated how photography creates life and so for my website critique. I realized that for a frustrated photographer, I haven’t had any glimpse of how and where photography started, the history of photography.

I did it, I found a bolded title “History of Photography” in the search engine that I am using. I was hoping to see some interesting pieces but they weren’t any. The page loaded quickly because it didn’t have any “extras” to start with. Warm colors were used on the font and the background, which is not too bright and not too dark.
This site is complete with historical details. The photographer’s biographies are
arranged alphabetically and the site offers a quick view of some of the styles that can be used in photography.



It is to have order, when internet enthusiasts look for

background information on the photographers or events about photography, they have chosen.

Even though the website is educational among frustrated photographers and professionals. It failed to entertain those who don’t appreciate photography; instead, the viewers browse another website for an educational and interesting site.

oral vs written culture

For me writing is impersonal, does not carry emotional intonations as well as speech, and lacks the identifying characteristics (pitch, tone, timbre, rate, etc.)
I am more on the oral cultures side because of plato’s influence on me. Plato talks about how many rhetoricians used a technique known as the Art of Memory for facilitating their recall. He laments how writing has made the once noble Art of Memory largely a forgotten art. Many cultures utilized an entirely oral tradition for maintaining their cultural sagas and mythos. Even today, there are bards which remember and sing national epics and tales which are thousands of lines long. Plato may not have been the first one to notice that writing may have destroyed man's own memoric talents.

my internet experience(comlab)

Using the internet is always fun and usable. Though I find it hard to enjoy it here because the connection is slow.It depends upon the computer you are using. There’s also a lot of site that are band mostly Entertaing site’s. Because of these there are many resourceful site that becomes useless.

When i surf the net during comlab classes.The first site I go in to was multiply, a site were you you upload pictures that are viewed by other people. I have an account there its nice to keep a collection pictures of the experiences, the memories that I shared with my friends. After that I log in to meebo for instant messaging to keep in touch with far away friends and sometimes to ask my classmate about the seatwork that we have to do. Hehe…

In conclusion i just would like to say that they should fix the computers and the slow internet connection. bow...

oral vs. written

Trying to look back on which of the two I prefer, I seem to lean towards oral. Most of the time saying, "Sana oral nalang kesa paper..". Why? Because I feel like it is more spontaneous, lively in a way, and it shows my real emotion and probably eagerness towards the topic. 

I seem to say so much more, compared to how I write. I can't always say what I want to say through writing, I feel like I always need to emphasize things through facial expression, hand gestures or BOTH. 

So in a way, I find oral communication much more true or sincere, since I get to see how the person reacts while he's talking, I will be able to see his body language therefore adding up to how I can read or interpret his message. 

Then again, it's not bad for you to send me letters. *wink* ;]

late post: ORAL vs. WRITTEN

If there's one thing that I love receiving, it's letters. I love writing letter too. Even in the generation now that we usually just use e-mail and text messaging to communicate, I still would like to receive and write letters. Actually, I still do.

The technology and its advancements has played a huge part in today's society. Newer and newer technologies such as cellphones, mp3s, etc. are being introduced to the public. It seems like no one can survive without technology. But really, no. People can live without technology only if they're willing to do things the hard way. Haha. I've always been amazed with how people before like our ancestors survived without any technology that we are experiencing right now. For example in communication, the early early people used stones to carve images in walls to say something and the other would interpret it. It's so easy today. You just say what you mean and mean what you say (or not! haha!).

So for me, having both is a good thing. When we get to practice good oral communication and understand those written ideas and messages, communication can flow very smoothly or at least it will help people in conversing and communicating.

Maikli lang to! Tungkol sa Social Interaction

Dati, may parte ang mga song hits, magazine, at pocketbook kung saan may makikita kang litrato ng tao kasama ang adres at "physical description" niya. Ito ang pen pal era. Pagkatapos nito, nauso naman ang random dialling ng landline at makikipagkilala, ito ang phone pal era. Halos kasabay ng text era, ay ang internet. Ito na ang bagong paraan ng mga tao upang makipagkilala sa iba. Uso noon yung mIRC. Marami ang nagchachat at mag-a-eyeball (magkikita kita for the first time). Marami ang nagkakila-kilala dito at maraming pagkakaibigan ang nabuo.

Ngayon, meron nang Multiply, Friendster, YM at kung anu-ano pang website sa pakikipaginteract. Nagiging malalapit ang mga tao sa isa't isa, sa ibang bayan man, maging ibang bansa.

Learning Disabilities and the Internet

I once read an article on the internet about this girl who was paralyzed from the waist below. One would think that this would be another sob story about a paralyzed girl. But no. This article was about how this girl overcame adversity, of how she didn't let her physical disabilities deter her from having a life, and of how the internet helped her learn.

It's actually really inspiring.

Now, everyone can use the internet to study and get a college degree. Some Universities even offer a Master's degree online.

The disadvantages of not learning in a scholastic environment such as a classroom still remains to be seen, but hey...getting a College degree online from a reputable University without stepping outside of your house is pure convenience in its ultimate form.
