My Internet Experience

My Internet Experience

Internet is one of the most special technologies that have ever been developed. I like surfing the net a lot. There are so many things that a person could discover through browsing the net.

One of these discoveries is finding online friends community. Friendster, facebook, multiply and myspace are just a few of the popular online communities here in the country. There are advantages and disadvantages with these however. In these accounts, the owner could upload files such as pictures, music, and videos. Some pretty good hackers could easily get in one’s account and could expose whatever files they could get anywhere within the internet.

On the other hand, these online communities could get one in touch with the people overseas. For my case, I am very thankful to discover facebook. I have communication with my foreign friends from high school through this magnificent technology. I could easily see what they look like now after five years. I would just recommend people to make their accounts private so that they will not get in trouble when facing a not so good situation with the hackers.

I also like browsing on articles such as news and features. Search engines provide interesting feature stories. Mostly is international news. It is very interesting to know what is going on with the world. My favorite site, just to mention, is the national geographic site. There are so many good things in that site. There are also incredible pictures from real events by real people.

Internet is one of the most fascinating discoveries of man. We should use it in a good way or else we could get ourselves in trouble.

Internet Mania

Internet Mania
The internet is such a broad source of interchanging information through the networking based resource. This is already is so big that the society has already evolved through the ever updating body source of information.
Our daily lives have already adapted to the life of internet society. Information daily has been through billions of billions of precessing data and every second would also be processing through the internet. As far as my words can only go through these thoughts, the reality of internet is way more than what i have already said. Uplaoding your life in the net is also going through, by posting blogs, music, videos, pictures and especailly anything that you have engraves in a data would give your own identical mark in the internet world.
Internet in school would be a different story, we have our own perception on how useful it is and how limited it is ofr us students to use the internet in our school. We are very thankful that we have already internet in our university because some schools are not capable of having internet. It is just sad to say that there are some things that are not accessable by this school because of the understanding that some may use those resources more than for educational purposes. As far as we can go, things are doing fine because what ever we have failed to accomplish in our school is being done outside of school. Luck is also a factor for this because if you are not accesible to use internet outside of school, then we have a problem for that.

what i do when i surf

Today I spent most of the time in the computer lab simply because all of my classes are held there. I love surfing the net. In fact, it’s one of the best boredom busters I could think of, especially when I’m in school, doing nothing during my free time. But I’m not a computer addict as well. I don’t spend most of my time playing in the computer or chatting with friends. I think I have gone away from that hobby. Now, I mostly use the net for school purposes, personal agendas and for entertainment.

One of my most favorite things in the net is to search for the latest entertainment news. Yes, I love gossip news but not the local ones we have here. I’m more interested in knowing the latest in Hollywood. Aside from that, I like checking out business sites such as e-bay or online shopping sites like kohls.com or ae.com. My biggest problem in these sites is that they are only available in the United States. I wish Asian people like me could also avail of their products. Anyway, I noticed that clothing and apparel brands here in the Philippines do not really have their own websites or they have one but not updated. Among the brands that I have visited are Kamiseta and Team Manila. I could say that I did enjoy visiting them even though the stuffs are kind of pricy.

It may not come as a surprise but apparently, the first thing I do when I use the computer and I’m connected to the Internet is to check my friendster account. Actually, I check it more often than my email accounts. I guess there’s excitement in anticipating who has left a comment on your profile or the new friends who have invited you as a friend. Thanks to friendster, I am connected to my friends date back to my grade school years. Alongside checking out social sites, I also enjoy visiting the Real Madrid website obviously because I am a big fan of the team. I don’t get to watch soccer that much compared before now that I’m back here in the Philippines and so I only get updated when I visit soccer sites such as that.

Utilizing the computer in school is a different experience than using the one at home. Why? First of all, as students who pay for our computer and internet fee in school, we don’t get to use the computer all the time especially when classes are being held in the lab. To be honest, it is only in this term that I got to really use the lab very often. At least, I know that what we are paying for does not go to waste. Another problem is Dansguardian. It’s one of my biggest complaints because there are some sites that do not need to be censored by the school. Particularly, I find it difficult to access in Yahoo images because some computers in the lab don’t allow it. it may sound exaggerated but it actually eats your time especially when you’re doing a complicated activity in Compart and you don’t have enough time to finish it.

Games2girls is one site that I love to visit. It’s a site that offers the coolest games for girls (as the name implies). The dominance of the pink color, I think, is one of the reasons that attracted me to it. Well, it’s not because my favorite color is pink but it’s that feeling of going back to being a child again every time I visit the site. Nevertheless, most of the games are also good and fun.

Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of my time using the computer because most of my classes this term require me to do so – from searching for topics and what could be reported to finding a solution for my boring and “pathetic” drama script. It just shows that you can find answers to almost all of your concerns on the net. You can even find gazillions of apple-pie recipes that sometimes you don’t know which the best is. Thanks to Bill Gates and the inventor of Yahoo and whoever is involved in the cyberspace technology, Internet does makes complex things easier and life better.

netXperience

My normal routine when I log on to the internet is: check my yahoo mail, check facebook, look at flickr for jewelry, and look at other sites that will give me craft ideas. But since I am in the school computer lab I am not able to look at facebook. This is actually the only thing I can’t look at. I completely understand why they don’t allow these kinds of sites. I mean we are in a school we shouldn’t be looking at networking sites that may possibly have bad content.

So right now I’m looking at flicker, I’m looking at bracelet ideas because I’m going to start a new bracelet collection. So far everything is going well, although there was one page that was banned and I don’t really know why because my search is specific to bracelets. So that is a little frustrating because you never know that page may have the best bracelets. But its alright I have actually gotten a couple of ideas because of this compmed exercise.

I’m done looking at flickr, now I will check the Martha Stewart site. I get recipes, crafts, and many other ideas from here. The Martha Stewart site is very well made and very organized; it makes it easy for someone like me who doesn’t like being hassled when searching.

I really don’t have any complaints using the internet here in the computer lab, there are just times that I would like to look at certain pictures but for some reason I can’t because it is blocked. But all in all I think the staff for the computer labs are doing a good job.

my internet experience

Ever since the internet was created most people including me find that the use of the internet is a lot easier than going to a public library. All that is needed to be done is to just sit at one spot and you will be able to get all the information that you need. There is no need to go to the proper shelf or having to find the right bar code of the proper category in the library.

When I have the use of the internet, which is usually a lot, it is a lot easier for me to do any of my work. There are plenty of different sites that provide all kinds of information about the certain topic that I am researching. Although sometimes it is very difficult to know which sites provide the proper information about your certain topic.

Research is not the only thing I use the internet for. There are plenty of things that can be done with the use of the internet. Instead of snail mail there is now email. Most people, like me have plenty of accounts over the internet. And I also have more than one email account. The internet is a great way to keep connected with your peers who travel abroad. The only down side is if the person who went abroad does not have internet or may not have access to a computer.

A lot of people praise the internet when it was created. It has made a lot of people’s lives easier. I find the internet very useful and I am grateful. I’m the type of person who wants to keep in contact with people where ever they may move to. But when it comes to actually writing a letter and having to go to the post office just to send one letter I get lazy easily and wouldn’t write anymore. But with the internet I don’t even need to leave the house. Although, my laziness has hit me stronger and even though it is less of a hassle to send letters these days, I still do not send emails because of my laziness. Now that is not a problem of the internet. That is a problem with myself.

The only means that I have of communicating with the use of the internet is chatting, Yahoo Messenger or Gtalk which is provided by Google. It always seems to be more fun for me to communicate with others when I send a message and they reply back very easily. I get updated so fast and don’t have to wait for a long time to reply. With chatting I get to say a lot more than I want to and it’s just much better.

Internet has really been a major part of everybody’s life. I am very appreciative of the person who created the internet for they have really found and easier way for people to research or get in contact with others without a lot of a hassle.

SURF SURF SURF

The upcoming debate in our GRPCOMM class came to my mind, when Miss Cielo Santos told the instruction about the exercise on surfing the Internet.
First, I opened my Yahoo Mail account but it took almost ten minutes to open the webpage. It finally opened to tell me that there’s an error that won’t allow me to enter the webpage. Yahoo offered to use the classic version. Good thing the classic version immediately opened. J
Google is the search engine I prefer to use. I typed in keywords to research for the debate topics for our GRPCOMM class.
I encountered some problems like the slow pace of opening a single webpage. Sometimes I found a search result and tried to open it but when I clicked the hyperlink, it opened another page that says, “Sorry, the file does not exist.” It is one of the drawbacks of using the Internet because when you think you found the necessary information, the Internet will limit you from knowing it because of webpage problems or inconsistencies in content. It took about five minutes to open the page just to tell you that the file does not exist. It turns out to be the opposite fact that says Internet is the fastest way of finding information nowadays.
Another thing is that keying words in search engines would offer you thousand of search results including the irrelevant information. It now becomes tiring to research because among the thousands of results, you can most probably rely only on the first few pages of the search results offered.
These are the problems I encountered during the COMPMED period’s surfing experience. - NCA -
