interwebz.

Unlike many of the other teenagers that belong to my generation, I did not have the privilege of using the internet in class at school. In elementary, our computer teacher only focused on teaching us how to play simple point-and-click educational games that taught us how to type and generally how to interact with the unit. Eventually, we worked on using document processing, presentation making and electronic spreadsheet software but the farthest we ever went was basic programming and html formatting for websites that we could view without logging onto the internet.

However, because I belonged to a fairly well-to-do family that gave us the means to explore the many possibilities modern technology has to offer, I was introduced to the internet in my final year of elementary. I emulated my older brother and spent some time in chat rooms, talking to older foreigners who found it hard to believe how young I really was. Again, unlike some of my peers that have had traumatizing experiences with mean people or even pedophiles, the people that I met were generally nice and friendly.

When I had ventured to surfing the internet, I began by posting a WANTED: PEN PAL on a child-friendly website. I met a girl from this country that I would eventually become good friends with. Incidentally, she was the one that encouraged me to start blogging five years ago. I have been sharing my thoughts on cyberspace on and off (mostly off) ever since.

While I still enjoy blogging occasionally, the service that I am undeniably addicted to is the social networking sites. I can spend hours on end on these sites just talking to my friends (especially those I don’t see anymore) and – as much as I am ashamed to say it – anonymously stalk people I’m interested in.

Using the internet is a good way to pass time but more importantly, many people rely on it to keep them connected to long-lost friends or to even meet new people. Nonetheless, I still believe that the availability and convenience of the internet stops us from exerting the extra effort to find time for the people that matter to us and maybe even the opportunity to explore and venture out to worlds unknown to actually socialize and mingle in real life.

Oral VS Written Culture

Oral Vs Written Culture

What is Oral Culture? Oral Culture is a way of society to transmit history, story, literature, law and other knowledge across generation without writing it. People tends to use the "storytelling" to spread their news, the disadvantage of Oral Culture is the reliability of the information. While in the other hand, the Written Culture is the other way around of Oral Culture, when people discover ink and paper the way of society spread and transmit the news, story, literature, law and other knowledge is by writing it down and publish it.

I dont know if Filipino's are more on Oral or Written Culture. Though we are adopting the technology on written culture, Filipino's still relly on Oral Communication. We love "CHISMIS", we are Chismoso and CHismosa and we love sharing information right? ahahhaha... =)

SONA

STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS popularly known as SONA.. delivered by our own beloved President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, uhmm.. ok sa simula palang parang gusto ko na atang iuntog yung ulo ko sa sinabi nia na "just few months ago, we ended 2007 with the strongest economic growth in a generation.

GRRRR>.....

my EXPERIENCE=)

Internet, Internet, Internet.. what is Internet? Internet is a endless source of information, that can helps us in our school works, personal needs, leisure, hobbies and ENTERTAINMENT!=) it can be your guide/instructions/reviews about movies, sports, health and etc... Internet has the ability to get many information by just clicking the mouse which is very convenient and relax (EASY!).You might get useful or non useful information, but better than no information at all. More knowledge even without finding more people. YAHOO, GOOGLE, WIKIPEDIA are usual site that we use for seeking information.

Internet is also a way of COMMUNICATION. easier, faster and cheaper way to communicate. YAHOO MESSENGER, FRIENDSTER, MULTIPLY and MSN are the best and popular sites we usually used. We use it to be able to express our feeling to our friends, famil...

They say that we students are early adopters and heavy users of the Internet.Use of the Internet is a part of us students daily routine, in part because we have grown up with computers. It is integrated into our daily communication habits and has become a technology as ordinary as the television. As a college student every night I'm using Internet for about 4-9 hours because of my paper works, assignment, checking COSMO, my MAIL, FRIENDSTER, MULTIPLY and a lot and a lot of ENTERTAINMENT. It's hard for me to finish my school paper first because of a lot of distraction popping up. After how many hours in front of the laptop I feel some headache and tired.

One of my favorite site is "COSMOPOLITAN.COM" grabeh! I really love the site, a lot of articles/ videos / new tips about your hairstyle, make-ups, the way you dress, taking care of your relationship, career and about your own self. Cheap way to improve my knowledge, the time that i used to surf is enjoyable, I constantly learning new things and anytime I need the information, easy to retrieve.=)

Let's do it orally written

Oral vs. Written? hmmmmmm

We have an argument about Oral teaching over Written form of teaching, if you would ask me I would be glad to have both. Learning is very vast and extensive so we must maximize our learning capacities. We all know that learning will not stop after we graduate and we also learn from our own experiences in life that would teach us very valuable things. For my opinion, I would say we should grab what learning opportunity we would have and would not matter if we have Books, internet or just by a Professor explaining in the classroom.

Some people have their own weaknesses like for a majority of people have the case of ADD's and ADHD's which are Attention Deficit Disorder cases that they can not focus on some things in a span of time and I myself think that I may have a minor case but others have still try and do what they have to do. Sickness is not the persons fault that is why there should be a majority of techniques we have to chose from teaching. I think this is one problem the society of teaching must concentrate about and maybe they have ADD as well. The schools methods are still upgrading and surely more methods will be adapted through time because there will always be room for improvments.

People have their own way of expressing themselves and some can have a better mode of explaining towards their chosen medium of communication that is why people have their own advantages to some mediums of information.
Bloggers can express themselves better rather than giving a speech to the people and it is because it is their strength compared to a person who prefers having a classic way of discussion towards the people around them.
Learning is an ever improving source of mediums that will always be renewing so that the future generation will have better ways of teaching and passing information towards people. For now, I can base myself on just picking one method of learning from oral or written but I choose both.

Like the quote we all are familiar from : "Knowlede is power"
This is all

State of nation of domination

State of The Nation of Domination

We are all aware that a State of The Nation Address was help by our very own President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and there were a lot of reactions towards this. As usual there will always be both sides of the people on how they accept the address given.
I think that it is already normal that there will always be violent protesters that would always try and maul the event. To be honest, I was not able to watch the SONA because we had our classes in school but I will still have to read the details over the weekend. I assumed that every year this has always been done and as what I can see, it is just always the same. The president would surely fabricate most of the achievements he/ he has done. In my perspective I would believe her when I see it with my own eyes. There would not be a change if people would not act on it. Before some people say anything for or against anyone, instead of just talking, better act on it.

I would be supporter of our president if I can see the change within the society and yeah I have seen some changes that is why I keep my mouth shut against her and yes I do give her slack because making a change around hard headed Filipino people living in the 21st century third world country is not that easy to do. All I can say is that before people judge and blame some people, we better look at the mirror and ask if we are doing what we are suppose to do. If you want change we better start on ourselves.

DANS GUARDIAN VALUES OUR EDUCATION

Cyberspace searching

Ever since education and formal principle of work is developed by man to correspond with all the incredible necessities demanded by modern day civilization, man has come up with tons of devices and sophisticated technology to answer this gigantic necessity. In line with this inventions are that of the Encyclopedias and incredible stacks of informative books collected for public utility. However, such things doesn’t answer a fraction of what the whole world requires when it comes to academic and work related matters.

However, one of the most incredible and phenomenal attributions of modern man to technology internet or cyberspace to correspond to our immediate demand for information. With all the marketing paraphernalia and telecommunication benefits present today. Cyberspace provides an infinite horizon of huge data form all other parts of the world together with all the telecommunication benefits used by everyone from toddlers to working people. As an ordinary student of this current period. I am involved in hundreds of academic research works and instant messaging that can only be found in cyberspace. Information from dinosaurs to machine guns stored from all parts of the world and tons of people seem to upload their products and information since internet marketing is cheap and can be made to function with immense ease as long as you are able to place input on your own section. Through this capability certain professors are already suggesting students to forward their paperwork through e-mail. I can also talk to people form the other side of the globe and get immediate responses. Other improvised technologies can be upgraded through the help of the internet and can enable somebody to view and talk to people from intense distances. I find this capability as a fantastic and very useful kind of way in getting connected to people we know. Certain events can also be recorded and then uploaded to Youtube that enables people all over the world to see and comment about it as well. Although, cyberspace enables everyone to use such technology, people have come up with certain formats that block certain sites and this somehow limits the full potential of cyberspace in certain contexts. This has been formulated in order to limit certain items that may seem to be disruptive to certain users.

With all these features given by cyberspace, I think that is a much of a very useful thing that can be manipulated by man in order fro it to function well. It has made schoolwork and work tasks a lot more easier for people.
