intenet and the social world
thank God i am not anymore addicted to chatting. the first time i was introduced to napster, i got addicted right away. i especially liked going to Spanish chatroom since i'd always been interested in their culture. and i actually met this guy Pedro who was a lot older and opted to send his photo..funny! he was actually good-looking but i didn't think it was his real photo...and so i sent him my photo..only it wasnt me but some celebrity in our country. and he fell for it..hahah! so i don't really believe in having serious relationships online alhtough i know a couple who met online and got marries after a year of chatting. can u believe that? i can't imagine myself falling for someone i haven't met or talked to personally..what if he's a psycho who hunts for voluptuous women...freaky...anyway, i once read this article from my ever so fave teen vogue magazine about cyberdieting...where young women started this online community about dieting..in there they share all their heartbreaks about weight gains and their desire to slim down to a stick...i thought it was sad but i could relate to those girls too...and for them they have somehow found a community to which they feel they belong...

Have you ever noticed that sometimes it is easier to confide in a complete stranger rather than someone you know very well? Sometimes we find great comfort in anonimity, away from the pressure of what people expect you to be and how you're supposed to act.
Maybe that's why internet can be a blessing to "torpe" guys or anybody who is simply shy. Online, people don't have a preconceived notion of who you are and simply depend on how you interact.
Eryl ha... :p
It's true. It IS comforting to find a community who have the same issues and uh... kaweirdohan as you do. (Haha) It is something you won't always find in the 'real' world.
cant believe you did that! (hehe ;D)
well, i think there are times that it is okay to engage in activities like that. it is part of people's urge to explore. one thing we should always remember is that we should always be guided and know our limits and the consequences of our actions.
hahaha yeah it is pretty freaky about online dating, never knowing if the other person is telling the truth. thats crazy! but, other communities, like the one you mentioned in your blog, are also pretty nice. its not online dating, but its a way for people to release what they feel.
